Emily's embroideries naturally convey the textures of the seashore, while they look like abstract paintings.
About the page author
Emily Bottello today is a rather famous figure in the needlework and design environment. She issues her embroidery kits and conducts seminars and master classes in different cities of the world. Meanwhile, Emily made the decision to devote herself entirely to embroidery not so long ago, a couple of years ago. Prior to this, according to her stories, Emily worked in the field of fashion, but once, recognizing that everything is not going the way she would like, she decided to go nowhere.
Then she was presented with a sewing machine and, in addition, many spools of sewing thread of various colors and shades. According to Emily, she began to embroider, using these very threads for sewing. “It turned out that already in the beginning I kind of went around embroidery traditions,” says Emily. Now in her work, reminiscent of macro shots of coastal sea rocks - stones, lichens, shells, algae - our heroine uses a variety of materials. Among them - sewing threads, threads with texture, beads, beads and so on.

What is this page about
Emily’s Instagram page is called “Salt Stitches” and is entirely devoted to these embroidered, as if natural sea-soaked embroideries, naturalistic and abstract at the same time. Here the various stages of their creation are captured.First, Emily goes to the sea to walk along the coast, to notice the most interesting and picturesque natural patterns and take pictures. Then she prints the photo on the fabric, and then embroiders according to the drawing. As a result, the hoop appears to be enclosed as if a real piece of the sea shore - and at the same time an embroidered picture.
