We bring to your attention a very simple and very elegant variation of the usual straight sleeve!

Shein, Forever 21

The airy flying wing sleeve always looks very feminine, and even a novice craftswoman can simulate it.

Machining a mini-sleeve and half-open armhole

The classical scheme for modeling a sleeve-wing based on the basic pattern of the sleeve is as follows:

Having decided on the desired length of the sleeve, draw from the ridge to the bottom line from 3 to 7 lines, along which we then cut the pattern, not reaching the rounded border of 0.5 cm.Then we extend the pattern by 3-6 cm for each section.

There are simpler options for creating a wing-sleeve, as, for example, in our master class below:

Today, we will consider an interesting variation of the wing-sleeve, which is also based on the pattern of a standard straight sleeve, but it is obtained due to the folded folds.

The finished sleeve is as follows:

How to model pleated sleeves

Unlike the classic version, we cut the base pattern, which we cut before reaching the dash line, completely, pushing the parts to the specified width.

Please note that the serrated edge is necessary so that the folds along the ridge lie in a straight line, without unnecessary protrusions. They do not need to be somehow calculated and drawn in advance: if you prepare a pattern on a tracing paper, then fold the folds and cut off the excess along the line of the okata, focusing on the original base pattern, you will see that in a flattened form your pattern will have the same serrated edge okat lines.

Due to the incorporated folds, such a sleeve receives a flare characteristic of a sleeve-wing, balanced at the same time by the severity of the vertical lines!
