Results of the contest "My designer thing"

Do-it-yourself sewing is a creative process that is always driven by inspiration, an idea and a desire to create something unique, unique, its own - things with an individual character and color.

At the contest "My Design Thing" many diverse and interesting works were presented, each of which is distinguished by a design approach and a non-standard vision of how to translate the desired idea into reality. These are dresses, skirts, suits, coats sewn by our members of the forum according to our own designs or based on Burda patterns, as well as hand-made knitwear and accessories in couture style. To create the majority of the competition works, the inspiration for the participants was models from the collections of famous designers.
The works of our needlewomen are highly skilled and each worthy of praise and admiration, but the jury always has to make a difficult choice.
We thank all the participants of the contest "My Design Thing" and present three winners:
1. In the nomination Your couture models sewn by hand or typewriter became a winner Elena (MissCouturière). Elena sewed a delicate dress with handmade embroidery based on the haute-couture Chanel collection. The creation process was long and laborious. First, an embroidery design was developed.Then a suitable model was selected from Burda magazine, which became the basis for the realization of a dream. In addition, Elena submitted a D&G-style kit, a Dior skirt, a jacket based on Chanel, a Gianfranco Ferre kimono and other models, but the dress became an indisputable favorite, both among the jury and among those who voted for her work.
2. 2011 Christopher Kane skirt by Inna Makeeva (macinna) - won the nomination Your models knitted manually on knitting needles, crochet, or using other haute couture technique. The skirt Christopher Kane has long been loved by our members of the forum, for whom there is nothing impossible. Indeed, in this case, the main thing is a great desire to create. At the very beginning of the journey, Inna was scared to ruin everything. But - the eyes are afraid, and the hands are doing. The choice of threads and the calculation of the meter of yarn was accurate. And here is a great result in front of you.
3. Accessories serve to complete any image, and sometimes they are the most striking accent in the whole ensemble. It is important not to overdo it. Bag from Jimmy Choo from Burda 3/2010 really liked Olga Kondrashova (OLLLis). And she decided to sew the same from pressed suede! Olga independently designed the model and came up with the decor.
