Recently, among needlewomen, instead of the usual buttons, buttons for clothes are very popular. On the product in a buttoned form, they are not visible from the front.

Sew Buttons

There are ordinary buttons for sewing and magnetic, with any size and color, from metal and plastic.

How to sew a button:

As a rule, the fastener on the buttons is performed on twice the folded and reinforced gasket (non-woven) material.

The upper part of the button with the “leg” is sewn to the upper edge of the fastener on the wrong side, and the lower part of the button with the hole to the lower edge of the fastener on the front side. On the seamy side of the bottom edge of the fastener, mark the location of the button sewing. First sew the top of the button. Then mark the place for sewing the bottom of the button. To do this, you can grate the “leg” of the upper part of the button and attach it to the “mating” part of the fabric. If the chalk point is not visible, then mark the point of "puncture" of the button leg with a pin.

Punching buttons

There are piercing buttons of various colors and sizes, in the form of ready-made kits. These buttons can be installed independently using a hammer or special pliers.

Important: the installation locations of the buttons should be marked on both edges of the fastener.

The punching button consists of two upper and two lower parts.When installing the parts of the button, make sure that the “cap” of the upper part of the button is on the front side of the upper edge of the fastener, and the “leg” is on the wrong side of the upper edge of the fastener, the substrate of the lower part of the button is on the wrong side of the lower edge of the fastener, and the cup is on the front side of the bottom edge of the clasp.
This method requires great accuracy. Therefore, before installing the button in this way on the finished product, practice on the sample.

Ribbon with buttons

It consists of two parts: one with the upper parts of the buttons, the other with the lower ones. The braid with the upper parts of the buttons is sewn to the wrong side of the upper edge of the fastener, the braid with the lower parts is sewn to the front side of the lower edge of the fastener. At the same time, make sure that the parts of the button match.

Small buttons

Most often they are used as the main fastener in clothes for newborns. In addition, such small buttons can be used in blouses or as a “hidden” fastener, for example, in models with a deep smell. They are sewn and "punch".

For the latter, special tongs are used to install buttons and eyelets.
