The upper part of your body is about three sizes smaller than the lower ... Your motto when choosing clothes: emphasize the upper part and mask the hips.
In fact, the owners of this type of figure should not be upset - the figure is very feminine and natural. But trying to buy a suit from a jacket and a skirt or trousers often ends up with a helpless shrug for you. If you find the right jacket, then the trousers or skirt to it should be two to three more in size. Not to mention a separate swimsuit ...
What to do?
The perfect solution is to sew it yourself! In this case, you can choose suitable not only sizes, but also fabrics, and refuse models that are unfavorable for your figure. And if you buy ready-made clothes, then choose the right strategy.
YOU GO
■ Wide cutouts and collars, expanding up the lapels. These details visually increase the shoulder line width.
■ Everything that emphasizes the shoulders and neck and draws attention to the upper body, from decorative accessories - from brooches to fur boas.
■ Contrast flaps on chest pockets, buttonholes on lapels, contrast stitching at the top of clothes.
■ Diagonal cuts, smells, draperies, creating a soft line of transition from the shoulders to the waist.
■ Pullovers, cardigans and blouses of light or bright colors, as well as of shiny fabrics.Such clothes look more voluminous, and skirts and trousers of darker or restrained tones visually reduce the hips.
■ A silhouette that gently repeats the lines of your figure in its upper part and expands from the hips.
■ Light top, dark bottom. The top is made of shiny fabrics, the bottom is made of matte.
SHOULD AVOID
■ Contrasting colors for a skirt and jacket or pullover, the border between which runs in the hips. This draws attention to the fullest place of the figure. However, you can quite afford it (including fashionable Basques) if you make a bright accent in the upper body.
■ Fitting models in which the discord between the upper and lower parts of the figure is too noticeable.
■ Catchy details (pockets, for example) located on the hips.
■ Direct flowing jackets, blouses, etc. - they give you an overly stocky look because they hide your waist.
■ Belts wider than 4 cm - they emphasize too much the difference in the volume of the waist and hips. If you still want to wear a wide belt, choose belts of combined width.
■ Tulip skirts (balloons and the like).
TIPS, TIPS, TIPS
■ A blazer or blouse with a large pattern is more suitable for women taller than 1.70 m. Tall women can also wear contrasting shoes.
■ Try on the shoulder pads - they visually increase the width of the shoulders. Shoulder pads are of different thicknesses, do not use too thick so that the neck does not "get lost" among the shoulders.
■ Choose patterned fabrics for blouses and cardigans. Wear patterned collars or lapels.
■ Perfect dress: tight-fitting, flared from the hip, with a large collar. However, a sheath dress and a pencil skirt are also a good option.
■ If you have short arms, discard short sleeves, contrasting in the color of the cuffs, wide sleeves, and jewelry on your wrist.
■ Choose accessories primarily for chest and shoulders. Brooches, lapel pins, neckerchiefs, chains with large stones, even a pullover thrown over your shoulders will make your figure more proportional.
■ If you have a short neck, then the chain or beads should not be very short.
■ When choosing a swimsuit, look for models in which the lower part is darker than the upper, on the chest and along the line of the shoulders there are catchy patterns or bright color spots. With wide straps, located at some distance from the neck. With decorative elements at shoulder or chest level: assemblies, ruffles, applications.
■ Whenever possible, avoid shoulder bags that end at hip level. For you, an ideal shoulder bag with a shorter strap that ends above the waist.
